At the PSA lab, we study psychological processes that facilitate optimal functioning in sport and in other leisure activities. Our goal is to learn more about how personality, motivation, and self-regulation relate to each other and affect important activity outcomes, such as performance and well-being.
We conduct research with various populations (e.g., athletes, coaches, sport fans, students), using diverse research designs (experimental, cross-sectional, longitudinal) and statistical methods (analysis of variance, structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling).
We are actively conducting research on the following topics:
Passion
Savouring
Self-compassion
Perfectionism
Coping
Burnout
Athlete well-being
